Returning to Calgary

In a small prairie town in Montana just past Joplin I was given the excellent advice not to try for Calgary which was still 5 hours away. We crossed the border around 7 pm and I determined to push on to Calgary if possible. All was well until we were about 30 minutes away from Kirsty's.

Leaving the old apartment

I avoid moving because I find it really difficult and stressful. a Moving out of Calgary 15 years ago was a long drawn out business. Friends helped with packing and cleaning. Finally, a few days after the moving van had picked up most of what I was moving, friends came over and bundled Rosemary, Ellie and me into our Eagle Vista and we set off on our drive to Poughkeepsie. It was hard leaving such good friends.

Moving out of Poughkeepsie was a similar scenario. Many friends and Rosemary put in hours helping me pack. It should have been much easier as I was moving out of a 1 BR apartment not a 3 BR house with double garage and full basement but I'd inherited stuff from both parents and had availed myself of storage areas. I still was not 100% packed when the movers came so again a couple of days later friends bundled me and Penny into my Subaru Impreza on the afternoon of Friday 13th and we made a start.
